Objectionable Features: Can sucker and get wild looking.

Habitat Requirements:

Soil Preferences: Prefers wet to moist well-draining soils, but is tolerant of clay.
Exposure: Full Sun to part shade
Water Requirements: Moderate to wet.

Maintenance Characteristics:

High maintenance. Remove suckers to keep a more formal look, or hard-prune in late fall to maintain a smaller size and encourage darker purple foliage.
